Castle 2
Cathedral Transept basilica with a nave, two side aisles and an ambulatory with three radiating chapels, as well as semi-circular chapels projecting from the transept arms. Monumental portals on the west facade (with fragmentary sculpture) and north flank as well as a portal into the north-side aisle. The altar area is raised above the crypt with an ancient sarcophagus. Two spiral staircases at the juncture of the transept and the ambulatory give access to the roof area as well as the staircase in the south tower. Rib vault over the square chancel bay. Groin vaults over ambulatory. Dome over the crossing and an oculus on the facade. South tower contains many spolia reliefs and radiating chapels have exterior spolia columns. Decorative blind arcades at the roofline of the chevet and transept terminals. 14
