Mapping the Kingdom of Sicily
This map represents a selection of significant towns in the historic Kingdom of Sicily. Be advised that this is not a comprehensive set of the cities and sites documented on the website. Select the “Satellite” or “Roman Roads” layers to toggle them on or off, or zoom into the map to view a larger number of cities. For more comprehensive access, please use the browse and search functions under the “Explore” tab. We are currently developing a new interactive map for the Mapping the Kingdom of Sicily page.
The project team has recently endeavored to georeference every site represented in the database. By clicking “Explore” above, you can browse all “Cities & Sites” and navigate by toggling to “Map View.” Select a point and “View Site Page” to access historical information and images. Alternatively, you may perform an “Advanced Image Search” to filter results according to specific criteria, then use “Map View” to locate all associated sites.
